- Legislation
- Since June 28, 2025, Act No. 351/2022 Coll. has been in effect, implementing the European Accessibility Act for the private sector as well.
- Price
- WCAG audit from €800; bringing a website into WCAG 2.2 AA compliance €2,000–8,000 depending on scope and complexity.

- We also made accessibility improvements on the website of the state hospital SÚSCCH in Banská Bystrica — video captions, heading order and ARIA.
Why accessibility matters
Does my website have to be accessible?
Since June 28, 2025, accessibility requirements also apply to the private sector — e-shops, websites with online services and mobile apps. And an inaccessible website doesn't just fail inspections; it turns away customers who simply can't use it.

Act No. 351/2022 Coll. transposes the European Accessibility Act. Compliance is supervised by the Slovak Trade Inspection.
The purchase can't be completed
A customer using a screen reader can't find the cart or the order button and leaves for a competitor with a more accessible website.
The website can't be used with a keyboard
Menus, forms and pop-ups only work with a mouse. For some users, the website practically doesn't exist.
Missing structure and alternatives
Images without alt text, videos without captions, low contrast and a confusing heading order.

What we check
What WCAG 2.2 AA means in practice
WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) is the international standard for web content accessibility. Level AA is the standard required by law. In the audit, we focus mainly on these areas.
I want an accessible websiteColor contrast
At least 4.5:1 for regular text, and color never as the only carrier of information.
Keyboard navigation
The entire website usable without a mouse, with a logical tab order.
Screen readers
Clear buttons, links and ARIA attributes for NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver.
Heading structure
A clear H1, H2, H3 hierarchy that makes the website easy to navigate.
Alt text
Image descriptions and text alternatives or captions for videos.
Text resizing
Content remains usable with text enlarged to 200%.
Forms
Field labels, clear error messages and help with filling them in.
Accessibility statement
Compliance status, a list of inaccessible content and a contact for reporting issues.
Technology
Technically, no ceiling
We're not just auditors who hand over a report. We build websites and apps ourselves on Laravel and Symfony, so we can fix identified barriers directly in the code — in templates, components and forms. We build accessibility into new websites from the start, which is far cheaper than fixing it later. And we can also manage website content through an AI assistant and an MCP server, as on the SÚSCCH website.

SÚSCCH — accessibility improvements
As a state-owned joint-stock company, the institute must meet accessibility requirements. We added captions and text alternatives to videos, fixed the heading order and ARIA attributes — alongside automatic publishing of invoices and orders.

Ask usWhat is WCAG 2.2 and why does it matter?
WCAG 2.2 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) is the international standard for web content accessibility. It defines rules that make websites usable for people with visual, hearing, motor or cognitive disabilities. Accessibility legislation requires it at level AA.
Is my website legally required to be accessible?
Since June 28, 2025, Act No. 351/2022 Coll. has been in effect in Slovakia, implementing the European Accessibility Act. The requirement extends to the private sector, including e-shops, websites with online services and mobile apps. Compliance is supervised by the Slovak Trade Inspection.
Does the requirement apply to small businesses too?
Under the law, microenterprises — fewer than 10 employees and annual turnover of up to €2 million — are exempt from the requirements for services. Whether the requirement applies to you depends on your type of services; we've covered the details in our article on web accessibility from June 28, 2025.
How much does a WCAG audit and website fix cost?
A WCAG audit of an existing website starts from €800. Bringing a website fully into WCAG 2.2 AA compliance ranges from €2,000 to €8,000 depending on the site's scope and complexity. We design new websites with accessibility from the start, which is significantly cheaper.
How long does it take to make a website accessible?
A WCAG audit takes 1–2 weeks. Implementing fixes depends on the number of issues found — simple fixes (contrast, alt text) take us 1–2 weeks, while complex changes (navigation, forms, dynamic content) can take 4–8 weeks.
What does conformance level AA mean?
WCAG defines three conformance levels: A (basic), AA (standard) and AAA (highest). Level AA is the standard required by law and covers sufficient color contrast, keyboard operability, text alternatives for images, a readable structure and compatibility with assistive technologies.
How do you test accessibility?
We combine automated tools (axe, WAVE, Lighthouse) with manual testing — using NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver screen readers, keyboard navigation and other assistive technologies. For full verification, we also recommend testing with real users with disabilities.
What is an accessibility statement?
It's a page on your website describing the current compliance status, a list of inaccessible content (if any) and a contact for reporting issues. We'll help you prepare it after the audit and fixes.
Can you fix a website you didn't build?
Yes. We audit any website, e-shop or app. We can make fixes directly in the code; for websites built on templates and plugins, we first assess whether a fix or a new custom website makes more sense.
Do you have experience with accessibility in the public sector?
Yes. For the Central Slovak Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in Banská Bystrica, we made the website accessible — video captions and text alternatives, heading order and ARIA attributes. See the SÚSCCH case study.
Do you work for companies outside Slovakia?
Yes. We work for companies in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Austria. We have offices in Banská Bystrica, Bratislava, Poprad, Liptovský Mikuláš and Zlín, and we can carry out an accessibility audit entirely online.
